NID to Hold Second Virtual Board Meeting for April 

On April 8, 2020, NID held their first official virtual Board Meeting via the Zoom platform. SYRCL applauds NID for prioritizing public participation and transparency, especially during the COVID-19 Shelter in Place order. NID's online instructions, facilitation of the Zoom platform, multiple public comment opportunities and efficient organization of the meeting facilitated a professional public meeting despite technological difficulties and relaxed Brown Act requirements. We hope NID continues this commitment to public involvement and transparency throughout this crisis.  

As a reminder, there are two different ways you can watch and/or listen to the NID Board Meeting this Wednesday. You will need an internet enabled computer equipped with a microphone and speaker or a mobile device with a data plan. Use of a webcam is optional.

This Wednesday, NID will review priority infrastructure projects and the purchase of back-up safety generators in response to the Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) events.

Tips for Virtual NID Meetings

• Are you joining via an internet browser on your computer? Make sure your internet browser is up to Zoom requirements to ensure access. 
• Are you joining on your mobile device? Log-in with Zoom mobile app on a smartphone and enter Meeting ID# 349 480 879. To view the meeting agenda on a mobile device, please switch to “Request Desktop Website” in your browser settings.
• Want to make public comment? The best way to give public comment via Zoom is the "raise your hand" function. See these instructions for more information, and make sure that your microphone is not muted when you give public comment. 
• Is the phone line busy? More phone numbers can be found on Zoom’s website at https://zoom.us/u/acbEgxZkFI.
