This Wednesday, the NID Board will host a workshop "Understanding the Brown Act." The Ralph M. Brown Act (1953) guarantees the public's right to attend and participate in meetings of local legislative bodies, including meetings held by NID. The Brown Act is considered a bedrock state law for transparency and government accountability, and it is important the District and community members understand this important law.

NID will also review quarterly spending and monthly expenditures, including another $35,264 on Centennial Dam. Want to know more? Join us this Wednesday

Dam(ing) News:

"California's variable precipitation makes water storage crucial. Aquifers and off-stream reservoirs are the most feasible places to store additional water in the future, given the costs and environmental consequences of building new dams across streams.
