NID Postpones 2020 Water Planning Projections Board Workshop Last week, NID sent out a press release announcing that they have officially delayed the Board Workshop to review the 2020 Water Planning Projections in order "to give the District adequate time to review the large volume of comments received and prepare for a future Board meeting." The workshop was originally scheduled for this Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Thank you to all the Dam Watchdogs that submitted comments on NID's Water Planning Projections by the October 19, 2020 deadline! SYRCL, as a member of Foothills Water Network, helped draft and submit comments with substantive recommendations on how NID should move forward. The comments will be published to SYRCL's website later this week. We hope NID takes time to thoroughly review all comments and look forward to hearing more at the Board workshop in November. To learn more about the 2020 Water Planning Projections, see the links to the documents below. As a reminder, NID's Water Planning Projections are important because they will be incorporated into important management plans such as the Raw Water Master Plan (also known as The Plan for Water), Urban Water Management Plan and Agricultural Water Management Plan. NID Elections - Get Out the Vote! Voting is a very important part of our democracy, as well as an essential way for community members to voice their opinions about issues that matter most. One of those important issues is the management of our precious water resources. Nevada Irrigation District (NID), one of our local water agencies and proponent of the proposed Centennial Dam, is governed by a 5-member Board of Directors. Two of those Director seats are up for election this November.
